1.2 The restrictions outlined in this document are designed to ensure compliance with applicable sanctions regimes, regulatory requirements, and our internal risk management policies.

1.3 This list of prohibited countries and territories may be updated at any time without prior notice. Users are responsible for monitoring these restrictions and ensuring ongoing compliance.

1.4 Attempting to access our services from a restricted jurisdiction may result in immediate account suspension and potential legal action.

3. Sanctions Compliance

3.1 Regulatory Compliance: Bit1 maintains strict compliance with sanctions imposed by:

  • United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC)

  • European Union sanctions regimes

  • United Kingdom Office of Financial Sanctions Implementation (OFSI)

  • United Nations Security Council sanctions

  • Other applicable international sanctions authorities

3.2 Individual Sanctions: Users must not be listed on any sanctions list maintained by the above authorities, including but not limited to:

  • OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) List

  • OFAC Consolidated Sanctions List

  • EU Consolidated List of Persons, Groups and Entities

  • UK Financial Sanctions List

  • UN Security Council Sanctions List

3.3 Entity Restrictions: Entities that are owned 50% or more, directly or indirectly, by sanctioned persons are also prohibited from using our services.

3.4 Ongoing Monitoring: We conduct continuous sanctions screening of all users and transactions to ensure compliance with applicable restrictions.

4. VPN and Circumvention Prohibited

4.1 Strict Prohibition: The use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), proxy servers, or any other technology designed to circumvent geographic restrictions is strictly prohibited.

4.2 Detection and Enforcement: We employ advanced geolocation and fraud detection systems to identify attempts to circumvent our restrictions.

5. Your Responsibility

5.1 Legal Compliance: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Bit1 services complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction of residence, citizenship, or business operation.

5.2 Ongoing Obligation: You must immediately notify us if your status changes in any way that would make you subject to these restrictions, including:

  • Change of residence or citizenship

  • Changes in business organization or ownership

  • New sanctions designations affecting you or your entity

5.3 Pre-Registration Consultation: If you are uncertain about your eligibility or the applicability of these restrictions, you must contact our legal team before creating an account or using our services.

5.4 Due Diligence: You are responsible for conducting your own due diligence regarding the legality of digital asset trading in your jurisdiction.

6. Changes to This List

6.1 Discretionary Updates: Bit1 may update this list of prohibited countries and territories at any time at our sole discretion, without prior notice to users.

6.2 Factors for Changes: Updates may be based on:

  • Changes in international sanctions regimes

  • New regulatory requirements or guidance

  • Emerging risks or compliance concerns

  • Business strategy decisions

  • Legal or regulatory advice

6.3 Notification: When practicable, we will update this page and notify users of significant changes through our Platform and registered communication channels.

6.4 Immediate Effect: All updates to this list take immediate effect upon publication, regardless of notification timing.
